What is Pilates?
Highly recommended for overcoming low back pain and regularly recommended pre or post surgery.

Complement to a healthy life, however active you are. We start working to build up  the smaller or weaker muscles and some cases new ways to move through movements or exercises. As much possible we aim for “whole body” exercises.

We look at how we stand and how we walk and see if the action or movement is as efficient as it could be. We look to align the body first, identify the area we are concerned with and then "work".

Who was Pilates?

Joe Pilates created Contrology that later adopted the name Pilates after his death in 1967.

Why do Pilates?

Pilates or Yoga?

Both can share similar benefits. Both can be tailored to the individual. Both can complement each other.

Is Pilates Exercise?

Pilates is not the same as going for a run or a swim, however, deliberate paced exercises moved through with efficiency is a good workout for the whole body without overly stressing the body.

We can add exercises that can raise the heart rate, as long as they are controlled movements.
